1994: Gicano was founded in Aleppo, making its beginning by using the best raw material and local natural leather to manufacture men's formal shoes.

During the following years, the production process was upgraded by adding a new line of casual and sport-chic footwear, as well as sports shoes. The company has also started manufacturing its own soles at its factory using PVC, TR, or natural stiff sole leather as basic material.

2001: the factory underwent a new upgrade, where the machines and other production lines were replaced by newer ones imported directly from Spain and Italy. Further additions will take place in 2004 with the introduction of modern automated machines to the production lines.

The company products include a large array of models, by the most eminent Italian designers, as well as new models that come to be added to the collection every season.

In addition to the Syrian market, our products are exported to Arab countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Iraq. As well as our exports to Russia and Romania, our company is working on the opening of new markets for our products in the Arab countries, Europe and Turkey.

The company regularly takes part in Arab and International exhibitions, and is currently looking forward to obtaining the ISO certificate from the Dutch company DVN.
